PODCAST: Drew Wandzilak on Venture Capital in Media and Student Startups

Drew Wandzilak just might be our biggest fan.

I remember when — right after Avengers: Endgame came out, my brother, Jake, wrote a piece on why he was disappointed in the culmination of the MCU. The next day, Drew walks up to me and said he loved the piece and had posted it in a group chat with friends. They all started arguing over the merit of the article, while Drew said he smiled after starting a conversation around this piece of content he deemed to be really good.

And that’s what I love about talking with Drew. He’s always interested in exploring different buckets and topics — after all, the venture capital route is all about hearing pitches from all kinds of different industries! We’d talked about doing a podcast for a long time now, but we finally did the deed and had an awesome conversation about whether or not companies needed to be mission-driven, how he perceives student startup cultures after running 10KE last summer, and the craziest pitch he’s heard after working for two-plus years with Alumni Ventures Group.
